When you sign up, Fanvue automatically gives you a randomly generated username and display name. Keep them, or change them to anything you like. You don't need to upload a profile picture, either.

Fanvue's help centre says your display name is the only name creators will ever see. You can change it at any time, and creators only ever see the current one. Keep your real name out of both your username and your display name.

Creators can't see your email address, your card or bank details, or your location. They can see that you subscribe to them, but not the subscriptions or purchases you make with other creators.

One thing to keep in mind is chat. Your messages with a creator are visible to that creator, which is rather the point of a DM. So share only what you'd be happy for them to know.

Other fans see even less: your chosen username, plus your profile picture if you upload one. They can't see which creators you subscribe to, what pay-per-view content you've bought or how much you've spent. Your DMs are private, too.

Anonymous to creators doesn't mean no checks at all. Fanvue doesn't ask you to verify your age when you first create your account. But depending on where you live, it may ask before you can view or search for age-restricted content.

The check runs through Ondato, a third-party age verification service, and asks for a selfie that's used for age estimation only. In some regions, local law also requires a photo of a government-issued ID. You may also be asked for ID if your selfie wasn't clear enough or the first attempt failed. Fanvue's help centre says it doesn't store your selfie or ID images, only a pass or fail and a timestamp.

Don't try to dodge it with a VPN. Fanvue says using a VPN or location-spoofing tool to bypass age verification may get your account permanently terminated.

💜04. Easy ways to keep your fan life private

Pick your sign-up email with care. Fanvue's help centre says you can't change the email on your account, because it's tied to your account identity and your Fanvue wallet. If you sign up with Google or X instead, your account is linked to that login.

Then lock the door. As of July 2025, Fanvue's help centre points to the Account section of Settings to manage your password, turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) and log out of all devices. If you signed up with Google or X, you'll need to set a password before you can turn on 2FA.
