Fanvue free page vs paid page: how Follow for Free and subscriptions work for creators, when each fits, and how to earn from PPV on a free page.

โœจ Quick Answer

On Fanvue, a free page lets fans follow you without paying, and you earn from PPV posts and paid messages. A paid page puts your content behind a monthly subscription of $3.99 to $100. Follow for Free is on by default, so you can run both: free followers as the funnel, the subscription as the access tier.

The Fanvue free page vs paid page question is really about where fans pay. On a free page, anyone can follow you at no cost and you earn from paid posts and messages. On a paid page, fans pay a monthly subscription to see your content. Fanvue lets you combine the two, so choosing the mix is the real decision.

๐Ÿ’œ01. How does a free page work on Fanvue?

A free page on Fanvue is built on Follow for Free. Fanvue's help centre says this feature lets fans who aren't ready to buy follow you, and that you can then work to convert them into paying subscribers.

Followers aren't just window shoppers, though. As of June 2025, Fanvue's list of what a follower can do covered getting your messages, writing to you when you allow it, seeing posts you've opened up to followers, reading your captions, and paying for PTV items you send them in chat.

Paid wall posts are open to them too, if you set that post's audience to followers as well as subscribers. You choose the audience each time you post, and a June 2025 Fanvue article allowed prices from $3 to $500 per post. Anything you mark subscribers-only stays out of a follower's reach.

Free following comes switched on. Fanvue says you can turn it off whenever you like with the Follow for Free toggle in your profile settings, and that leaving it on lets you decide whether followers may message you. We cover what the fan sees in "Follow for Free on Fanvue: What You Get Without Subscribing", so this guide sticks to the creator side.

๐Ÿ’œ02. How does a paid page work on Fanvue?

A paid page puts your content behind a monthly subscription. Fanvue's profile setup guide, dated August 2026, says you can set your monthly price anywhere between $3.99 and $100, so a Fanvue subscription always costs something.

Subscribers unlock everything you've marked subscriber-only, and can DM you if your settings allow it. Fanvue bills them every 30 days until they cancel. Once a subscription lapses, that content locks again, although anything they bought as PPV stays with them.

The catch with a paid page is keeping people. Fanvue's August 2026 figures show roughly 4 in 10 subscriptions renew past the first 30 days, and about 1 in 4 reach 90 days or more. A paid page asks for steady posting, which Fanvue sets at daily or at least every other day.

๐Ÿ’œ03. Free or paid: which should you run?

Fanvue's data points one way. Looking at new creators' first two months, its August 2026 pricing guide found the subscription brought in roughly a tenth of earnings, while paid DMs brought in roughly six in ten. It describes the paywall as the entry point, and the conversation after it as where the income is made.

A free-follow approach may suit you if you enjoy chatting and want a low barrier. Followers can message you, buy PPV and receive your welcome message: Fanvue says welcome messages go out when a fan subscribes or follows. It also suggests using your Followers list to nudge fans toward subscribing with a tease, not a plain ask.

A subscription-led page may suit you if you have a deep library and can post on a steady schedule. The same Fanvue guide treats the subscription as the access tier, with your strongest single pieces sold separately as PPV, and suggests newer creators price low and let PPV do more of the earning.

The hybrid is the default. Because Follow for Free starts switched on, a paid page can still collect free followers, sell them PPV and invite them to subscribe. The question is less "free or paid" and more how much you share with followers, and how much you keep for subscribers.

๐Ÿ’œ04. What about free trials and discounts?

Free trials are a third option, and they live on their own switch. Fanvue's subscription settings article notes that its "Free Trials Without a Payment Method" toggle is not the same control as Follow for Free. Following lets a fan see what you share with followers; a trial lets them try the full subscription for a while.

Fanvue also lets you run promotional offers from your profile, such as free trials or a cheaper first month, targeted at everyone, at new or lapsed fans, or at followers only. As of May 2025, the same article said you could offer subscription bundles of up to 50% off for 3, 6 or 12 months. Our Fanvue promotions guide covers how to use offers without undercutting your price.

If you switch models later, think about the subscribers you already have. When a price changes, Fanvue lets them move across in their own time or makes them re-subscribe, which ends their auto-renewal. Our subscription pricing guide walks through that choice.

๐Ÿ’œ05. Show fans your model on FreeVues

Whichever way you run your page, fans browsing FreeVues can see it. FreeVues is a free, independent directory of Fanvue creators. Its Categories page groups creators into collections including Free to Follow and Free Trials, and its Free Trials & Deals page shows who has a trial or deal running right now, which fans then claim on Fanvue.

Your card picks up your latest photo, bio, stats and price whenever you log in to FreeVues, so sign in after changing your price or starting an offer, or switch on "Keep my stats fresh" for a daily stats refresh. Joining is free and never expires, and Fanvue handles the sign-in on its own page, so your password stays between you and Fanvue.

๐Ÿ’œ06. What to take away

A Fanvue subscription always has a price, but your page can still welcome free followers. Decide how much you'll share with them, what you'll keep behind the subscription, and how you'll invite followers to take the next step. Then watch what your own fans respond to, and adjust.

Quick answers

๐Ÿ’ฌCan a Fanvue page be free?

Following can be free, but subscribing never is: Fanvue's August 2026 setup guide sets the monthly price between $3.99 and $100. So a free page means one run on Follow for Free, earning from PPV and paid messages instead.

๐Ÿ’ฌCan I sell PPV on a free Fanvue page?

Yes. As of June 2025, Fanvue let followers pay for PTV items sent to them in chat, and buy paid wall posts whose audience includes followers. Posts you mark subscribers-only stay locked to them.

๐Ÿ’ฌHow do I turn Follow for Free on or off on Fanvue?

Use the Follow for Free toggle in your Fanvue profile settings. Fanvue says fans can follow you for free by default, and that if you leave it on, you can also choose whether followers can message you.

๐Ÿ’ฌIs a free trial the same as Follow for Free on Fanvue?

No, they're separate controls. Fanvue's "Free Trials Without a Payment Method" toggle lets fans try your subscription for a limited time, while Follow for Free only lets them see what you share with followers, at no cost.

๐Ÿ’ฌDo Fanvue creators earn more from subscriptions or messages?

Messages, early on. Fanvue's August 2026 guide put paid DMs at around 60% of new creators' earnings in their first two months, against around 10% from subscriptions. It treats the subscription as the way in, not the whole income.
