Fanvue vs Fansly for Fans: Here's the Tea
Comparing Fanvue with other platforms as a fan? Check six things: how you find creators, what you can try free, what you'll be charged, who can see what you do, who is real or AI, and what happens if a creator leaves. On Fanvue, Discover is shuffled, you can follow for free, the full total shows before you pay, and AI creators carry a bio tag.
Fanvue vs Fansly for fans: six questions to ask any platform, answered for Fanvue, from discovery and free trials to privacy and what happens if a creator leaves.
Choosing where to spend your money as a fan is easier with a checklist. Instead of trading claims, here are six questions worth asking of any platform, answered for Fanvue, using only what Fanvue's help centre and terms say. Ask the same six of any other platform you're comparing, using its own pages, and you'll be comparing like for like.
๐01. How do you find creators on Fanvue?
Fanvue's help centre says its Discover section is randomised by default, so every eligible creator gets a chance to be seen. Within that, new, rapidly growing and high-performing accounts appear nearer the top.
Creators can also switch discoverability off. Fanvue says fans then won't find them in Discover or search, though the profile still works from a direct link. So a creator you've heard about may not turn up in a search, and a link from their own socials is the safest way in.
Prefer to browse by vibe first? FreeVues is a free, independent directory of Fanvue creators sorted by category, and you don't need a fan account to look around. Our guide "How to Discover New Fanvue Creators" has more ways in.
๐02. What can you try on Fanvue before paying?
Start with a follow. Fanvue's help centre says fans can follow a creator for free by default, though a creator can switch the Follow for Free button off. As a follower you can read post captions and see anything the creator has made available to followers, but not their subscriber-only posts. Our guide "Follow for Free on Fanvue" has the details.
Free trials are the other option, with one catch. Fanvue says that if you join on a trial and don't cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription and you're charged the creator's standard price on the day the trial expires. Your trial end date is in Settings > Payments & Subscriptions > Manage My Subscriptions.
๐03. What will Fanvue charge you?
Fanvue subscriptions are billed in 30-day cycles from your first payment, and they renew automatically unless you cancel. Fanvue says the total, including any VAT or local taxes, is always shown on the payment screen before you confirm, and prices appear in your local currency.
Pay-per-view is separate. Fanvue says a PPV purchase is a one-off payment that isn't included in your subscription fee. And if you want to cancel a renewal, Fanvue suggests doing it at least an hour or two before your renewal date, because a payment that's already processing can't be stopped. Our guide "How Fanvue Renewals Work" walks through it.
๐04. Who can see what you do on Fanvue?
When you sign up, Fanvue says you're given a random username and display name, which you can keep or change. You don't have to use your real name or upload a picture, and the display name is the only name creators ever see.
Fanvue's help centre says creators can see that you're their subscriber, but not your email address, card details, location or the subscriptions you hold with other creators. Other fans can't see which creators you subscribe to, what PPV you've bought or what you've spent. Our guide "Can You Be Anonymous on Fanvue?" goes deeper.
๐05. How do you know who's real, and who's AI?
Fanvue's terms say every creator must complete its verification process, including identity verification and a liveness check. That covers AI creators too: Fanvue says they're a recognised category that goes through the same verification as human creators.
AI creators are easy to spot. Fanvue says it's required by law to label them, and every AI creator has an AI tag in their profile bio. It also asks fans to check the bio before subscribing, and says it can't refund a subscription on the grounds that the creator is AI if the label was already showing. Our guide "How to Tell If a Fanvue Creator Is AI" explains more.
๐06. What happens if a Fanvue creator leaves or deletes content?
This is the question most fans forget to ask. Fanvue's help centre says that when a creator's account is closed, suspended or removed, access to their profile, posts and all associated content ends straight away. That includes pay-per-view content you bought and content sent in direct messages, and your message history is no longer accessible.
On the money side, Fanvue says an active subscription to that creator is cancelled automatically, with no further payments taken. If a creator deletes an individual post you paid for, you can no longer open it either.
The reason is simple: Fanvue says buying a subscription or PPV gives you the right to view content, not ownership of it, and creators keep their rights in what they publish. Fanvue also says removal doesn't by itself earn you a refund, since payments are non-refundable. If you were charged and couldn't access the content at all, its help centre says to contact support within 30 days with screen recordings or screenshots, and that any refund is at Fanvue's discretion.

Quick answers
๐ฌWhat's the difference between Fanvue and Fansly for fans?
This guide answers for Fanvue only, so you can compare like for like. On Fanvue, Discover is shuffled by default, you can follow creators for free, the full price including taxes shows before you pay, usernames are random by default and AI creators carry a tag in their bio. Check any other platform's own pages for the same six points.
๐ฌCan fans try Fanvue before paying?
Yes. Fanvue's help centre says fans can follow a creator for free by default, unless the creator switches the button off, and see captions and follower content. Some creators also offer free trials, which turn into paid subscriptions if you don't cancel before they end.
๐ฌCan other fans see my Fanvue subscriptions?
No. Fanvue's help centre says other fans can't see which creators you subscribe to, what PPV you've bought or what you've spent. Creators can see that you're their subscriber, but not your subscriptions with other creators.
๐ฌHow do I know if a Fanvue creator is AI?
Check their profile bio. Fanvue says it's required by law to label AI creators, and every AI creator has an AI tag in the bio. Fanvue asks fans to check before subscribing, and can't refund on the grounds that a creator is AI if the label was showing.
๐ฌWhat happens to my subscription if a Fanvue creator leaves?
Fanvue's help centre says that when a creator's account is closed, suspended or removed, access to their content ends straight away and your active subscription to them is cancelled automatically, with no further payments taken. Removal alone doesn't earn a refund, but you can contact support within 30 days if you couldn't access what you paid for.
