How Fanvue Payouts Work: Balances, Methods and Fees
Pending vs Available balance, payout minimums, methods, fees and chargebacks: how getting paid on Fanvue works, straight from Fanvue's help centre.
Fanvue payouts work in two stages: fan payments wait in your Pending balance, then move to your Available balance, which you withdraw to a saved payout method such as a bank transfer. Fanvue's help centre lists a $20 minimum that can vary by region, and says payouts are sent within 3โ5 business days, depending on the method.
Fanvue payouts follow one path. A fan pays, the money waits in your Pending balance, it moves to your Available balance, and you withdraw it to a payout method you've saved. The parts that trip creators up are the wait, the minimums, the methods and the fees. Here's each one, from Fanvue's own help centre.
๐01. Pending vs Available: why your money waits
When a fan pays you, whether for a subscription, a tip or pay-to-view content, the earnings go into your Pending balance first. Fanvue's help centre says this gives it time to process the funds through security and deduct any platform service fees.
Fanvue's terms set a standard pending period of 7 days, which can be extended up to 28 days depending on things like account verification and user activity. After that, your earnings move to your Available balance, and you can withdraw them when it suits you.
๐02. Before your first payout
First, a note on earning rates. Fanvue's help centre says the 85% rate offered to creators who joined in 2022 has come to an end, and the platform is moving to its standard 80% rate. If you're unsure what that means for your account, Fanvue points you to its live chat support.
Fanvue's help centre lists three things to have in place first. You need at least $20 in your Available balance, though Fanvue notes the minimum might not always be that low because of regional variations. You also need at least 5 pieces of content uploaded, and any co-creators featured in your content must be verified.
You'll also need to confirm your tax status. Fanvue collects this through a short tax interview and says all creators requesting payouts must complete it first. US creators fill in a W-9, and non-US creators a W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E. For your own tax situation, Fanvue recommends speaking with a qualified tax advisor.
Names matter too. Your bank account name must match your verified KYC name: small differences like a shortened first name are fine, but bigger mismatches get the payout rejected. Fanvue says you can't pay out to an account in someone else's name, including a manager, partner, family member or agency, even with permission.
Step 1: To request your first payout, Fanvue's help centre points to "Earnings & Payouts", then "Request Payout".
Step 2: If you haven't saved a method yet, click "Add a new payout method". It shows as In review during a security check, which Fanvue says can take up to 24 hours but is often quicker.
Step 3: Once the review is over, enter the amount you'd like to withdraw and click "Request Payout". Fanvue says your request is then processed and sent within 3โ5 business days, depending on the method.
๐03. Payout methods and their fees
As of May 2025, Fanvue's help centre called bank transfer its universal payout method, available in all locations. You'll need your bank account details, not your card details, and what's asked for varies by country. US creators, for example, are asked for an account number and routing number.
Depending on your location, you can also use a MassPay eWallet, a Cosmo eWallet or crypto. As of May 2025, Fanvue's help centre said PayPal wasn't available. A MassPay account doesn't need setting up beforehand: Fanvue says it's created automatically when you choose MassPay as your payout method.
Fanvue lets you save up to 10 payout methods and set one as your default. Only you can add, change or remove them, not an agency or manager on your account. You can't edit bank details directly, so add the new details as a new method, then set it as your default once it's Available.
Now the fees. Fanvue says a payout fee varies by payout method and account currency, comes out of the withdrawal rather than your balance in advance, and is shown with the net amount before you confirm. Its payout fee article names TripleA, at 1%, as the only payout provider that currently carries a Fanvue fee, and its payout settings article lists crypto as the option that runs via TripleA.
eWallet providers can charge their own fees. As of April 2025, Fanvue's MassPay article said MassPay's service fee varies by method and location and can be as small as $1. Both eWallet articles also said Fanvue isn't responsible for any fees accrued when you withdraw, and that its support team can help reverse funds still sitting in your MassPay or Cosmo balance.
๐04. Chargebacks and your balance
When a fan disputes a payment with their bank, that's a chargeback: the money goes back to the fan, and Fanvue takes the amount back out of your earnings, listed on your earnings page as "Chargeback from @username".
Fanvue calls the occasional chargeback a normal part of business, but your chargeback rate still matters for payouts. If it stays high compared with your earnings, Fanvue says it may temporarily restrict your payouts until your account stabilizes, then resume them.
Fanvue's advice for protecting your earnings is practical. Respond to fans who reach out about a purchase, and be upfront about what paid content includes. Flag unusual behavior to support early, such as a fan subscribing and immediately buying large amounts of content.
๐05. Where FreeVues fits
FreeVues sits outside all of this. Fans never pay on FreeVues: anyone who finds you there subscribes and pays on your own Fanvue page, and FreeVues has no access to your payments.
What it adds is one more place to be found. Listing is free, FreeVues isn't affiliated with Fanvue, and setup is one tap to connect your Fanvue account, with your card ready in under a minute.

๐06. One honest tip
Add your payout method well before you need it. Fanvue says a new method goes through a security check of up to 24 hours, and warns that if your account number or sort code is wrong, the funds cannot be recovered. A few careful minutes now saves a stressful wait later.
